From a young age, I knew I wanted to be an organic
farmer, and I just needed the perfect place. My dream would
have to wait a while as my love for good food led me to a
career as an Executive Chef, using fresh local ingredients
wherever possible. Working in the coastal areas of
Florida, I realized more and more the importance of
sustainability within our food system. In 2009, Nature's
Nook Farm became a reality in beautiful Live Oak Florida.

Our small, diverse farm uses all-natural practices with the
goal of protecting the natural ecosystem. We grow shiitake
mushrooms under the canopy of hardwood forest and the
oak logs grown within. Our fruit trees are mulched with
the biomass left over from the shiitake logs. Our herb
and vegetable gardens are enriched with compost
from our farm resources. A small herd
of Kiko goats maintains a pecan grove, contributing
to the natural flow of cover crops and composting.
