Sapphire Grove is a family-run micro farm (less than 3 acres in east Leon County) motivated by exposing our children to hard work, fortitude, and perseverance. During the long Florida growing season, we produce diverse crops, like sweet corn, potatoes, peanuts, carrots, melons, herbs, and citrus. Our sweet hens are considered family and are spoiled with garden produce. In return, they reward us with the tastiest true blue eggs.
We plant with a purpose and harvest with heart!
Practices
Following regenerative agricultural techniques, we build and replenish our soil with compost, cover crops, and living mulch. Our chicken army is employed as bed cultivators, cover crop grazers, and nutrient depositors before planting.
We seek to minimize the need for chemicals and synthetic fertilizers through complementary plantings that reduce unwanted bug pressure and increase beneficial ones, creating a thriving ecosystem.
