About Us
Half Acre Wood was established in 2024 by Karen Carroll and is comprised of a leased lot in Monticello, as well as Karen‘s own home gardens in Tallahassee. Karen has always belonged in a farm setting, having grown up riding horses and visiting her aunt's farm in England. She now partners with Blarney Farms in Monticello, a private farm with goats, cows, chickens, and ducks, and farms her leased lot on the same property. Karen completed the Wakulla Environmental Institute and Tallahassee State College Urban Farming and Entrepreneurship course in December 2024. Her main priorities are consistency, quality, and food safety.
Practices
Half Acre Wood is committed to responsible farming practices that take care of our bodies and Mother Earth. While we are not certified organic, we only use organic fertilizers and pesticides. All produce is pre-washed before sale. We work hard to bring you the most fresh and healthy produce possible.
