Hi, I'm Amy Wheeler, and I have always loved to bake! I grew up with my mom making homemade bread frequently, and it is one of my fondest memories from childhood. When we purchased our little homestead a few years ago, I started experimenting with sourdough to find a more healthy bread option for my family. Like most people, I started with traditional hard-crusted sourdough, but I was really looking for something softer like my mom's. I explored several recipes, and ended up tweaking my own. As friends tried my signature sourdough loaf, they often commented how soft and savory it was, and how they preferred it to the classic sourdough. A few friends even shared it with relatives that had gluten sensitivities, they were amazed that my sourdough did not bother them. I received raving messages about how thrilled they were to eat bread again! Before I knew it, several were asking for a way to purchase regularly, and I began to bake weekly. I now have an Artisan Sourdough Cottage Bakery using only the best sourced ingredients, and always organic when possible. In February 2026, I joined a small local farmer's market, and expanded my menu. I currently offer several inclusions, bagels, cookies, granola, croutons, and dessert rolls. I will do my best to offer a wide variety each week, but at a minimum my weekly menu should always include my Soft Savory Sourdough, sourdough granola, and a couple different sourdough cookie options.
